Author Nik Ripken traveled around the globe interviewing members of the persecuted church and chronicling their stories, but before you get to that portion of the book, Ripken tells the story of his own experience as a missionary in one of the most dangerous areas of the world, including the difficulty of his own personal loss. Rarely have I read a book that has so powerfully challenged and compelled me as this one.

The Insanity of God is a book you could read in a single sitting but you won’t. You can’t. Time and again you will have to stop, go aside, and weep. At times you will weep for our suffering brothers and sisters around the world who experience persecution for King Jesus as normal Christianity.
