My heart hurts

Most of you know that Tracy and I lived in Burkina Faso for a year until I got sick and we were sent home due to my illness. Our heart is still greatly burdened by the people of Burkina and we often find ourselves watching videos and/or reading articles about what is happening in the country. As I was doing so today I ran across an article that pointed out that according to the United Nations Development Programme's recently released Human Development Index, Burkina Faso has now dropped from the 4th poorest country in the world to the 2nd poorest country in the world. The only country in worse condition is Sierra Leone which, incidentally, is rebuilding itself after years of civil war. Burkina, with its fairly stable government, has no such excuse. If you think about it this Christmas season, please pray for the people of Burkina.
